This takes me back. I learnt the basics? of Taiko drumming in primary school; we studied Japanese and that was an extra part of music for selected students. (You had to audition)
We were always told to accentuate every hit with sharp and strong movements. I suppose this was the beginning of my love for drumming, I'd love to go back to the Taikos.

So true! Just saw one again today - it really is incredible in person! A few years back I did a one day workshop and it was really a? lot of fun to bang on drums for a few hours! It can get really intense, especially when everyone is moving together in unison! :)
